April and May

Here are some photos of life... during April and May... of no particular order. We hope you enjoy them.


Here are photos of Jonathan's class during the tug of rope game, Camilla (HP Ward) with her class, and Anna climbing the pyramid rope during Field Day at school.

Aquí hay algunas fotos de nuestra vida... durante los meses de abril y mayo... de ningun orden en particular. Esperamos que ustedes les gustan.

Paola is the best alarm clock for Jonathan. She works great! Other ways that have helped waking up our children in the morning for school are:
1. Putting on loud music (they like Lazy Town CD's song - Especially the one called "Wake up!")
2. Cooking breakfast foods like pancakes and bacon... the smell wakes them up, especially during those TAKS/Stanford/Aprenda weeks when they're exhausted by Friday.
I do think it very funny how they can wake up on their own on Saturday mornings, many times before 6:30am!

Paola es la mejor despertadora para Jonathan en las mañanas. ¡Ella es muy buena! Otras maneras que nos han ayudado despertarlos por la mañana durante la semana son:
1. Poner la música fuerte (le gusta la canción del programa <> que se llama <>)
2. Llenar la cocina con un olor de panqueques y tocino... la esencia despierta a todos en la casa, especialmente durante los exámenes del TAKS/Stanford/Aprenda, etc.
¡Pienso que es muy raro que los niños siempre pueden despertarse solos, sin ayuda, los sábados, muchas veces antes de las 6:30 horas!

Preschool friends: Zach, Naomi, David, and Hailey. We can't believe that Zach and David will be starting Kindergarden this year! And we will miss David and his family when they move to Washington this week. I have really enjoyed teaching these sweet children, so full of curiosity life, and always such an eagerness to learn, play, and eat cheese sticks! :)
Los amigos preescolares: Zach, Naomi, David, y Hailey. ¡No puedo creer que Zach y David empezarán Kindergarden en septiembre! Somos tristes en que perderemos David y su linda familia cuando ellos mueven a Washington esta semana. Este año ha sido un tiempo muy especial para mi. Fue un gran placer enseñar a estos niños tal dulces. Son niños llenos de vida, con mucha curiosidad, siempre con ganas de aprender, jugar, y comer palitos de queso. :)

Some fun playtime with Hayley and Jake. Anna and Paola enjoy spending Mondays and Thursdays with them. Here they are enjoying the pool in our backyard.

Here's the preschool quilt I'm still in the process of making... almost done with the front panel... waiting on one more square with a hand print on it... then I can sew the rest together. Anna can't wait to have it draped on her bed!

Aquí está <> (la colcha?) preescolar que todavía estoy cosiendo. Casi termino con la parte del frente, estoy esperando por un cuadro mas, con la manotada, y cuando la recibo puedo terminarla. ¡Anna no puede esperar hasta que la termino y la tengo cubriendo la cama!

Here's the picture I promised to share with you... our carrots growing in our front yard. The kids love coming home from school, or when friends are over too, and picking out a snack from the front yard! What a great way to learn to love your veggies! They're surprisingly sweet when you grow them yourselves! Yummy!

Aqui hay la foto de Jonathan agarando una zanahoria nuestra del jardin. Tienen buen sabor, un poco mas dulce que las de la tienda, y son muy deliciosas.

Wow, when you blow out your birthday candles and it causes the fire alarm to go off... you're old! Just kidding! Danny turned 35 on May 2nd. Jonathan chose those re-lighting candles... the kids were laughing their heads off while Danny tried to keep them extinguished! Ha!

Cuando la alarma de incendios aprende por causa del humo de sus velas de cumpleaños, creo que es verdad de decir que alguien ya es viejo... ja ja. Estoy bromeando... Danny cumplió 35 años de edad el 2 de mayo. Jonathan había elejido velas que re-encenden. Los niños casi se murieron de la risa con tanto humo. Ja ja!


Gabby's been really frustrated with the fact that she leaves the house and her closet is clean and organized... but when she returns home from school her closet is always messy... well, I caught the culprit... caught her red handed... or should we say red footed? Paola has a shoe fetish and will wear anyone's shoes if she can figure out how to put them on. :)

Recienmente, Gabby ha sentido realmente frustrada con la realidad de que cuando se va de la casa cada mañana su armario esta limpio y organizado. Pero, cuando ella vuelve a casa al fin del día escolar, su armario esta siempre desordenado... Que bien que agarré al culpable... Paola tiene un obsesión de zapatos y trata de que se pone cualquier zapato que encuentra donde la encuentra. :)

Jonathan and Gabby started swim team again this year... Anna, as you can see by this picture, is still thinking whether or not she wants to be a part of it. If not, no sweat... she can do it next year...

Jonathan y Gabby ha empezado a nadar de nuevo este verano y continuará hasta julio. Anna, como ustedes pueden ver por esta foto, todavía no esta segura si quiere parte del grupo. Si quiere participar, que bien. Si no, esta bien tambien.

Last, but definately not least... Aunt Genevieve (Danny's youngest sibling, the ONLY daughter in the family... poor child has 7 older brothers) is getting married this weekend and Gabby and Anna were chosen as flower girls! They can't wait, they're so excited! The dresses are in. Now I just have to hem Anna's dress a bit and either sew some little sleeves on the dress or find a cute shirt to put underneath the dresses... any suggestions, please let me know... ASAP!

Ultimamente, ¡La tía Genevieve (la única hija de la familia de Danny... pobrecita es la menor de 8 niños y la UNICA mujer) se va a casar este fin de semana en Arkansas. Gabby y Anna fueron escogidos como <> ¡Ellas no pueden esperar por este día especial. Son tan emocionadas por tener esta gran responsabilidad! Los vestidos ya llegaron.
